The FOX DEX 1/2D is an ATEX explosion-proof industrial vacuum from Depureco, the Italian manufacturer of industrial vacuum systems. It carries the ATEX marking II 1/2D Ex htc IIIC T140°C Da/Dc: certified for combustible-dust Zone 21 and Zone 22 working areas, with third-party certification of the internal collection chamber to Category 1D, Zone 20. That makes it suitable for extracting metal and other combustible, potentially explosive dusts — including Group IIIC — in total safety, even where that dust is contained inside the machine.
At its core is an ATEX-certified side-channel blower, chosen because it runs continuously without the maintenance a conventional motor demands. The vacuum is built in four configurations — 2.2 kW, 4 kW, 5.5 kW and 7.5 kW — so suction and duty can be matched to the process rather than over-specified, and every build shares the same certified explosion protection. With no blower servicing to schedule and little to maintain beyond the filter, it is engineered to keep running costs low across a long working life.
Filtration is handled by a high-efficiency M-class star filter in antistatic polyester, with a large 24,000 square-centimetre filtering surface and an integrated manual cleaning system that lets the operator knock the media clear and hold suction steady across a shift. A vacuum-limiter valve protects the blower, and antistatic filtration is specified throughout for the safe handling of fine, combustible dust. Certified to CE and ATEX, the FOX DEX 1/2D is engineered for intensive, continuous dust recovery where safety cannot be compromised.
The suction unit is a manufacturer-certified Atex side channel blower with direct coupling between motor and impeller. The Side Channel Blower is equipped with a safety valve that ensures continuous work, without any maintenance.
The tangential inlet facilitates the cyclonic effect to deposit the sucked material in the container. Filtration is provided by two progressive efficiency filters installed in series: a primary star polyester filter in class M (filtering efficiency 1 micron) with high filtering surface area and a secondary absolute filter in class H14.
Thanks to its 1D – Zone 20 certified chamber, the vacuum cleaner guarantees maximum safety and compliance when vacuuming combustible or conductive dusts (Group IIIC), even when these are contained within the unit.
The material is collected inside an AISI 304 stainless steel container, complete with a metal handle that allows its release, to avoid any sparks that could be generated by the electrostatic charge.
