Vacuums for combustible and hazardous dust.

Where combustible dust is present, the vacuum has to be built for it — not simply industrial-strength. Here is how to choose, and where Depureco fits.

The Risk

When do you need an ATEX vacuum?

You need an ATEX vacuum wherever combustible dust is present in your process, or wherever part of your site is classified as a hazardous area under DSEAR. In those conditions a standard industrial vacuum is not just underpowered — it can become the ignition source.

An ATEX machine is built to take that risk out: antistatic, fully bonded construction, certified motors and contained dust handling, rated to the zone it works in. Fine powders, flour, sugar, wood dust and many metal dusts can all be combustible — the risk depends on the material and the area, which is what your DSEAR assessment captures.

Specification

Certified ATEX, or ACD?

Zone classification is one part of specification — material, volume, duty cycle and filtration all matter too. As a starting point:

The Range

The Depureco range for combustible dust

Our ATEX vacuum range is certified for combustible-dust Zones 20 and 22: every machine is rated for Zone 22 areas, and the FOX and PUMA ranges add Zone 20 certification for the inside of the collection chamber. For combustible dust in areas that are not ATEX-classified, the ACD range offers safer collection built to international standards.

Browse the ATEX Vacuum Cleaners category to compare certified machines, or tell us your zone and material and we will point you to the right one — we would rather specify it with you than have you guess.
